About the Artist
Born in Penang in 1967, Lee Eng Beng is a self-taught Malaysian artist known for storytelling through scenes of everyday life. His works frequently draw from childhood memories, family relationships, street life and ordinary human moments. One of his most recognisable characteristics is his use of stylised figures with exaggerated muscular arms, legs and feet, giving his paintings a distinctive visual identity.
Although particularly recognised for watercolour, Lee has also developed a substantial body of acrylic works on canvas. His works have been exhibited locally and internationally, including in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China and Singapore.

There is a lovely sense of friendship, youth and nostalgia here. It reminds us of a time when happiness could be as simple as a football, a few good friends and a cold drink after a long afternoon of playing.

For a collector, this is the kind of artwork that can become more personal with time as it speaks about friendship, companionship and memories of simpler days. Its predominantly neutral palette also makes it an attractive statement piece for a contemporary home, office or private collection.
Come and see the painting in person. Original artwork often reveals much more up close — the brushwork, texture, scale and character of the figures can be difficult to appreciate fully through a photograph.
