Last week, a first-time buyer walked into our gallery and found a painting she really loved. She stood in front of it for quite some time, admiring it… but for a few reasons, she just couldn’t make the decision that day.
Yesterday, she came back.
She walked a few rounds around the gallery, searching for that same painting. Then she asked us where it was.
Sadly… it had already been sold. 💔
I could see the shock and disappointment on her face. We showed her several other beautiful works from the same series and by the same artist, but somehow, the feeling just wasn’t the same.
Because when it comes to art, sometimes you don’t choose the painting — the painting chooses you. ❤️
In the end, she left the gallery without a painting and with a very upset face. The best I could tell her was:
“When the artist sends us new pieces, I’ll show them to you first, ya…”
This little experience reminded me of something I always share with collectors:

If you truly connect with a piece, don’t wait too long. If you’re still considering the size, framing or where to display it, talk to us. You can always place a deposit to reserve it first.
Because unlike something produced in multiples, when an original painting is sold…
it is sold. There may never be another exactly like it.
So when a painting makes you stop, look again, and feel something inside… perhaps don’t let it walk away before you do. ❤️
Support local artists. Collect original art. And most importantly, collect the piece that speaks to you.
