Ting Cho Chien is a Malaysian artist born in 1970 in Miri, Sarawak. He studied Fine Art at the Central Academy of Art in Malaysia, graduating in 1987. His work is known for its intricate, expressive depictions of rural life and cultural landscapes of Malaysia, often featuring watercolors that reflect his attention to detail and use of light. After working as an art trainer, he transitioned to full-time painting, gaining recognition both locally and internationally through his exhibitions and awards.

This acrylic on canvas by Ting Cho Chien feature traditional Malaysian batik fabrics, beautifully detailed in vibrant colors such as blue, red, and green. The intricate floral and geometric patterns are emphasized with bold contrasts and deep reflections in the water beneath the hanging fabrics, suggesting a serene or cultural scene. The rippling effect of the water adds a dynamic element to the otherwise still composition, enhancing the visual depth and richness of the batik designs.
