Ismail Mat Hussin was a Malaysian Asian Modern & Contemporary artist who was born in 1938. Batik’s by Ismail Mat Hussin is always one of the good collection series by many collectors locally and international.
Ismail Mat Hussin has his interest in art since he is 12 , during his art class with Cikgu Nik Mahmood in Padang Garong Malay School. He learned the skill from art teacher Yusof Abdullah & renowed artist , Khalil Ibrahim. Ismail works a s graphic illustrator in Kota Bharu till 1991. Heavy limbs with muscle rendered is the trademark of ismail’s batik. The technique is partially influence by his teacher, Khalil Ibrahim. Ismail batik painting has been sold local and international.
